Tutorial Research

These are the music videos and adverts we were shown:

White Stripes Hardest Button to Button

Directed by Michel Gondry, this stop motion video consisted of 32 identical drum kits, 32 amplifiers and 16 microphone stands.

Jamiroquai Virtual Insanity

Directed by Jonathan Glazer, this video is rather deceptive. When viewing this, the first thought is that the floor is moving, when, it is actually the walls that are moving on a stationary floor.

The Pharcyde Drop

Directed by Spike Jonze and filmed in Los Angeles, this video had to be filmed backwards in order for the desired effect.

Guinness Surfer Advert

Another by Jonathan Glazer, this video took nine days to shoot and was inspired by Walter Crane's painting Neptune's Horses.

Koyaanisqatsi (Life out of Balance)

Directed by Godfrey Reggio, the majority of this two hour film consists of slow-motion and time-lapse, showing crowded streets, the moon rising and traffic amongst other subjects.
